In this workshop, I’ll be sharing the same simple methods I use here on the farm to grow flowers for our home and community. You’ll learn how to design a small backyard cutting garden that provides armfuls of blooms throughout the growing season — whether you have a dedicated garden bed or just a few containers.
We’ll discuss the flowers I grow year after year, along with a few that I’ve learned pass on. My hope is that you leave feeling confident, inspired, and excited to grow flowers that bring beauty into your everyday life.
• How to design a small backyard cutting garden that is both beautiful and productive
• My favorite flowers to grow for bouquets, as well as a few flowers that I personally skip
• When and how to plant different types of flowers throughout the spring season
• The difference between direct sowing seeds and transplanting starts
• How to successfully transplant young flowers into garden beds or containers
• Which flowers benefit from pinching to encourage more blooms
• Which varieties need staking or support as they grow
• Simple ways to keep flowers blooming longer throughout the season
Together we will also spend time planting. You will create your own cutting garden seed tray, filled with a selection of beautiful, beginner-friendly flowers. You’ll take this tray home along with guidance on how to care for the seedlings and when to transplant them into your garden.
This workshop is perfect for beginners, home gardeners, or anyone who has dreamed of growing their own flowers but isn’t quite sure where to start.

Children step into the role of caretakers of the land. We explore soil life, water systems, habitats, and how humans can give back to nature. Campers build insect homes, plant living spaces, and leave a lasting positive impact on the farm.
Focus: stewardship, ecology, responsibility
From garden to table, children harvest real ingredients and transform them into nourishing meals. They learn food preparation skills, outdoor cooking, and how food connects people and place.
Focus: cooking, food awareness, practical life skills
Children explore the four elements through hands-on experiences across the farm. Children focus on each natural force: shaping clay with their hands, observing water flow, studying birds in the wind, and safely cooking with fire.
Focus: outdoor skills, science in nature, creativity, teamwork, and connection to the land
Children harvest fresh blooms and learn the art of floral design — bouquets, flower crowns, pressing, and color harmony. The week ends with a sweet pop-up flower shop run by the campers.
Focus: creativity, design, artistic expression
Give your child the gift of a summer that builds real confidence and lasting memories.
The Full Summer Camp option enrolls your child in all six weeks of farm camps — a complete journey through hands-on skills, creativity, nature connection, and meaningful work. Rather than attending just one theme, children experience the full rhythm of the farm and grow comfortable, capable, and independent over time.
Throughout the summer, campers will cook meals from the garden, care for living spaces, craft herbal remedies, explore the elements, design with flowers, and bake from scratch. Returning each week allows children to deepen friendships, master skills, and feel a true sense of belonging on the land.
This option is ideal for families who want a consistent, enriching summer experience rooted in nature rather than a series of disconnected activities.
Includes all 6 weeks:
Earthkeepers
Wild Kitchen
Roots & Remedies
The Elements
Flower Folk Studio
Farm Bakers Guild
Schedule: Monday–Wednesday, 10:00am–2:00pm
Ages: 7–12
All materials included
Full Summer tuition offers a discounted rate and reserves your child’s space for the entire season.

Winter sowing is one of the simplest, most rewarding ways to grow strong, resilient plants by working with the seasons instead of against them. This is a complete guide designed to help you confidently winter sow year after year with fewer failures, stronger seedlings, and far less effort.
In this 18-page Winter Sowing Guide eBook, I walk you through the exact method I use on my own farm and in my workshops. Winter sowing works because it follows nature’s timing and when done correctly, it produces hardy, resilient plants without grow lights, heat mats, or constant monitoring.
It’s perfect for gardeners who want healthier seedlings, less indoor setup, and a more intuitive approach to seed starting.
