Wild Wisdom
Discover the Magic of Wild Wisdom
Gentle, farm-rooted learning where children grow through hands-on wonder, connection, and real experiences.
Wild Wisdom is a small-group learning experience for children ages 6–10, rooted in the rhythms of our family farm in Poulsbo, Washington.
Here, children have the opportunity to learn in a place where the seasons guide our days and the work around us gives learning meaning. They care for animals, tend gardens, explore the land, create, cook, read, write, investigate, and ask questions. Sometimes learning happens around the table or in our cottage classroom. Other times, it happens with muddy hands, a basket of vegetables, or a discovery made while wandering the farm.
Our days weave together academics, farm life, creativity, movement, and time to simply notice and wonder. Math might happen while measuring and planting. Science comes alive through animal care, plant life cycles, weather, and the changing seasons. Language grows through reading, writing, observation, storytelling, and conversation. And throughout it all, children are practicing the things that matter just as much—responsibility, kindness, communication, problem-solving, independence, and caring for something beyond themselves.
Rooted in Montessori principles, I provide gentle guidance while giving children room to explore, make choices, work at their own pace, and discover what they are capable of. With a consistent small group, children have the opportunity to build genuine relationships, grow in confidence, and become a meaningful part of the community.
I believe children flourish when they feel seen, heard, safe, and known. When they have space to move their bodies, engage their minds, follow their curiosity, and contribute in meaningful ways, learning becomes something they experience—not simply something they are asked to complete.
Much like tending the soil, supporting a child's growth takes patience, presence, and the right environment. It is one of the great joys of my work to watch a child discover that they are capable, that their ideas matter, and that there is a place for them here.
This is Wild Wisdom. A place to learn, to contribute, to wonder, and to grow.
What’s Included:
Wild Wisdom is a place where children learn by being part of something real. Our days weave together farm life, hands-on learning, meaningful work, creativity, and plenty of time to explore.
-

Hands-on Farm Learning
Children learn with their hands, not just from a page. They help care for animals, tend gardens, plant and harvest, observe the land, work with natural materials, and experience the changing seasons firsthand. The farm becomes a living classroom where curiosity naturally leads to learning.
-

Meaningful Academic Learning
Our time together includes reading, writing, math, science, art, and other areas of learning—but they don't always look like traditional school. We use the farm and the world around us to make learning tangible, relevant, and memorable. Children have opportunities to practice skills, ask questions, follow their interests, and build confidence in areas where they need support.
-

Real Responsibility & Life Skills
Children are trusted with meaningful work. They learn how to care for living things, contribute to a shared space, follow through on responsibilities, solve problems, work independently, and work alongside others. These everyday experiences help children develop skills that extend far beyond the classroom.
-

A Place to Explore & Wonder
There is room here to slow down and notice. Children explore gardens, forest, pasture, wetland, animals, weather, plants, insects, and the many small changes that happen throughout the year. Some learning begins with a lesson; some begins with a question, a discovery, or something that catches a child's eye.
-

A Small, Connected Community
Wild Wisdom is intentionally small so children have the opportunity to be known—not just by their teacher, but by the community around them. We practice kindness, cooperation, communication, and respect while building friendships and learning how to be a contributing member of a group.
-

Connection at the Heart of Learning
I believe children learn best when they feel seen, heard, safe, and truly known. When a child feels that they belong, they are more willing to ask questions, try something new, make mistakes, and keep going when something feels hard.
My hope is that Wild Wisdom gives children the space to build self-trust, resilience, confidence, and a genuine love of learning—while knowing they have a place where they belong.
-

Individual Support & Growing Confidence
Every child arrives with their own strengths, interests, personality, and areas where they may need support. I meet children where they are, offering encouragement, guidance, and opportunities to stretch without rushing them. My goal is not simply for children to know more, but to leave believing “I can do hard things. I can figure things out. I have something valuable to contribute.”
Why Wild Wisdom?
Children need more than a place to complete lessons. They need time to move, explore, wonder, create, contribute, and experience the world around them.
Wild Wisdom was created to give children that kind of space.
Here, learning happens through real experiences. Children care for animals, tend the gardens, observe the changing seasons, work with their hands, explore the land, create in the classroom, and learn alongside one another. Some days are muddy and busy; others are quiet and reflective. There is room for both.
Learning through real work — Children aren't simply learning about nature, food, animals, and growing things. They are part of it. They plant seeds, harvest food, care for animals, tend gardens, prepare spaces, create, cook, and see how their work contributes to the farm and the community around them.
A place to wonder and explore — The farm offers a living classroom with gardens, animals, forest, wetland, pasture, and open space to explore. The cottage classroom gives us a cozy place to gather, investigate ideas, read, create, and continue learning when the weather calls us inside.
Learning that follows the child — Wild Wisdom leaves room for children to ask questions, follow their interests, work at their own pace, and build skills through experience. We make space for different learning styles, personalities, strengths, and areas where a child may need a little more support.
A small community where children belong — With a small, consistent group, children have the opportunity to build genuine friendships and relationships. Returning students grow into leadership roles, while new students are welcomed into a community that already knows how to make room for them.
Confidence that grows through experience — When children are trusted with real responsibilities, they begin to see what they are capable of. They learn to problem-solve, communicate, care for others, try again when something doesn't work, and take pride in contributing.
A deeper connection to the natural world — Our days follow the seasons. Children experience where food comes from, notice changes in the land, watch plants grow, care for living things, and begin to understand that we are not separate from nature—we are part of it.
Most importantly, Wild Wisdom is a place where children can simply be children while still doing meaningful work.
My hope is that they leave each day a little more curious, a little more capable, and a little more connected—to themselves, to one another, and to the world around them.

My child adores "Mrs. B" as Bryanna is fondly referred to in my house. She has always been kind, thoughtful, and wise as she helps us on this journey of learning and thinking outside the box when it comes to education. My son has been with her from 3rd grade (he is now in 6th) and he says he wants to keep going to farm school FOREVER. Many tears have been shed that he will eventually need to move on to make space so other families can work with Bryanna. And they will be so lucky to get the chance! These kids have the chance to be outside all day, moving their bodies and engaging their brains, learning kindness and community all at the same time. It's been nothing but a blessing for our family.

“We have had the opportunity to work with Bryanna as a family in a multitude of ways. My daughter has shared that she has learned the most with Bryanna as they are out in the garden tending to the earth and a life or a math lesson appears and Bryanna seizes those as beautiful, embodied teaching moments. I appreciate how she includes the whole body, her experiential approach has been remarkable for my daughter. She retains much more and teaches me all the time!”
